Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs

June 18, Garden of the Gods Park

Garden of the Gods is a nice natural park, situated close to Colorado Springs. We leave our bulky RV at the camping site and it is cycling and walking that we will discover the geological curiosities of the site.

The park is not very extensive. The road that goes around must be 7 or 8 miles. The climbs are nonetheless steep for cyclists without training we are. Many hiking trails crisscross the park and allow for pleasant walks among the needles and other red rock formations. It's still Spring, and many cacti are in bloom.

Close to the road, we meet a band of Bighorn Sheeps. We take many pictures. Then they leave back to the mountains that border the park to the west.
