Denver, Colorado

June 16 & 17, arrived in Denver

Arrived in Denver on the evening of June 16, we take the morning of 17 for a walk around downtown before joining in a taxi, the offices of Camping World RV Rental.

We take possession of our motorhome. It looks brand new, it's an RV (Recreational Vehicle) C25 Four Wind Chalet on a Ford E350 chassis, powered by a V10 gasoline engine. The employee (Swiss) who delivers us the vehicle is fine. He explains clearly all the equipments, electrical, gas, drainage. Nothing to report except that the 12V plug does not work and he has to change a fuse.
All seems very functional although a little "low end" with plastic fittings and a curious air mattress inflated by remote control.
The two bicycles we rented too are fixed on a support at the rear of the RV so that the vehicle length is one meter longer

Now we can take the road to Colorado Springs, 200 miles south, which is our step on the road to Great Sand Dunes National Park. The small Tomtom we brought from France is very useful for us to find the camping Garden of the Gods where we make our first step

We discover what is a RV Park with full hookup. For the night, the price is about $ 40. The RVs and "5th Wheel" are parked very close. That does not seem to bother many people because we find that most users prefer to stay in their motorhomes. They don't spend time outdoor.
